The team spent the spring competing in two pre-Brick Tournaments: the 2019 Pro Hockey Bauer Spring Shootout in Toronto in May 2019 and the CCHA North American Spring Showcase in June 2019, along with a series of practices in Pittsburgh, Penn State University and an exhibition series against Detroit Brick. Currently, 80 past alumni have played D1 College Hockey, 36 went through the US National Development Program and 52 are playing in the NHL/AHL Pro Level. Selection camps were held in Edmonton, Calgary and Jasper, in addition to intensive individual player scouting throughout the winter hockey season.
